Chesapeake Beach and Bay Charter Fishing Report
January 1, 2006 - No fishing until April 15, 2006! See you then!
November 19-20, 2005 - Tiny Marx and yet another group of Steamfitters Local 602 had a fun day fishing on Saturday. Fishing all weekend was tough, but they managed to pull in a few 40+ fish on both days. Tiny had the pleasure of presenting Captain Lee with a birthday cake on Saturday. Captain Lee wore it well!
November 11-12, 2005 - Jerry "Tiny" Marx and his crew from Steamfitters Local 602 went fishing on Friday and Saturday. Everyone had a great time both days. Fishing was definitely better on Saturday, with the crew pulling in 7 keepers....most of which were over 40 inches and one weighed in at 40 pounds! Tiny takes full credit of course, for all those big fish!
November 7, 2005 - Well, Jenny Cournoyer and her crew proved the first weekend in November that the Fall big fish are here!
November is also a big birthday month here at DockOar and Tamshell Charters! Captain Tommy celebrated the BIG 6-O on the 4th; Captain Lee's wife, Pam celebrates her birthday on the 14th and Captain Lee celebrates his birthday on the 19th. BIG Party Month for all of us!
October, 2005 - October proved to be a hit-or-miss month on the Bay. The weather stayed warm for you folks at home, but the big Rockfish prefer it cold...and didn't show up yet.
September, 2005 - Yeah...we're back online again. So much for the weekly fishing report....it's now a Monthly Report!
Chris Kelly and his family had a great day on the Bay on Labor Day Weekend. The kids had a ball catching small perch and BIG Rockfish. Mike Dunn and his crew also had a great time aboard the DockOar over Labor Day weekend. Good thing Drin let Mike go fishing the DAY AFTER their wedding! This is the 2nd time this has happened on the DockOar this summer! What's with these newleywed husbands? Or, better yet, their wives? Congrats Mike & Drin on the nuptuals!
July 27, 2005 - Another great weekend of fishing! All boats caught their limit of Rockfish, Croaker, Bluefish and Spot.
July 7, 2005 - What a great weekend the 4th of July was! Good fun...good fishing! Jim Buckler and the boys went night fishing on Friday night on the DockOar and everyone had a great time. Michelle Rossi and those "Dick" boys had a blast on Saturday on the DockOar. They caught their limit...and everyone had a great time. Tami and Michelle (the Abner girls) and their families went to Tilghman Island on Saturday for dinner. Everyone had a great time. Tami even got to catch the biggest fish of her life on the ride back (24 inches)! On Sunday, we learned that our infamous 2004-ASA tournament winner, Cary Corder, finally made an honest woman of the lovely Annette Tri. They eloped. Yes, eloped! The folks don't even know it yet! They spent the 2nd day of their wedded bliss down at Abner's Crabhouse for the fireworks...then the 3rd day of wedded bliss was spent on the DockOar..showing everyone that though he's married now, Cary is still the "man" to catch the big fish! Congrats from everyone on all the boats to Annette and Cary! Fishing really IS for newlyweds!
June 27, 2005 - Joe Webber and his party caught their limit of Rockfish on the DockOar on Saturday, along with 22 Bluefish...some of which were OVER six pounds! Mike Gaffney and his family enjoyed their day of fishing on Sunday and everyone caught their limits! We also had two dinner cruises over to Harrison's on Tilghman Island. Everyone had a great time and left fat and happy!
June 21, 2005 - Amy Odhner's party had a great time aboard the DockOar on Saturday and caught limit of Rockfish. John Ekas and his crew had a 3-boat trip all everyone caught their limits on Saturday evening...along with a load of croakers!
June 13, 2005 - Ralph Haines and his regular crew caught their limit of 19 Rockfish and two Drum Fish aboard the DockOar on Saturday. Kenny Thompson and his crew also caught their limit on Sunday on the DockOar. The Tamshell II crew also caught their limit on Saturday. Everyone had a great time...and especially enjoyed the Dock Party afterwards!
June 5, 2005 - Another fun weekend of fishing for all on the DockOar and Tamshell II. John Marshall and his friends had the best luck on Sunday...they caught their limit of Rockfish, including a 32" and 30"! Who said the big ones were gone? The Croaker and Perch also bit well again this weekend on the evening trips.
May 31, 2005 - The Memorial Day weekend trips were all successful! Jay Cleary, his father, and a group of friends all got to catch a fish on the DockOar on Saturday...and had a great time reminiscing about "old" times. Franklin Cui fished with Captain Frank on the Tamshell II and got their limit too. Now...just what you've been waiting for...the Croaker are HERE! We spent the rest of the weekend checking out the Bay...and YES, they're HERE. The Rockfish have gotten smaller...but are more plentiful. You can keep two Rockfish per person per day now. Be sure to call and book a trip now!
May 27, 2005 - We hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend and good luck fishing! Be sure to come back and see the
Summer 2005 Photo Gallery. We're going Croaker-hunting this weekend!
May 23, 2005 - Another great weekend! What beautiful weather (after Friday's tremendous rainfall). Dale Shaw and his gang had a great day on Saturday on the DockOar. They were joined by Mark Fike from the
Chesapeake Angler Magazine. It was Mark's first time fishing on the DockOar and he had a great time. Be sure to keep an eye out for the article in the July issue!
May 14, 2005 - Another great weekend was had by all! The big fish are still here and everyone's having a great time catching them on both the DockOar and Tamshell II. Matt Cockrill and his gang had a great day on Saturday catching their limit and partying it up. Wayne Seiss and his gang came back for more on Sunday and had a great time as well.
May 9, 2005 - Chip Hoagland and his group from AES Corporation limited out on the DockOar last Friday and the fast-paced action continued all weekend. Even the "moms" got in on the action on Mother's Day! Be sure to check out the pictures on the
Spring 2005 Photo page.
The Tamshell II and DockOar have been limiting out every day! Most fish caught have been over 40"!
April 16, 2005 - Opening Weekend: The 2005 Spring Trophy Season ("BIG-fish" season for you regulars) opened on April 16th! We caught 30-41" fish all weekend. Les Shreves' and Art Lobson's parties caught their limit of big Rockfish both Saturday & Sunday aboard the Tamshell II.
Wayne Seiss and his party caught their 9-fish limit aboard the DockOar and John Mullen's Electrical Contracting Company caught their 11-fish limit also on the DockOar.
A big "thank-you" from the Captains and the Mates!
